Lignum Vitae (Dok Kaew
Chaochom) The University symbol is
“Dok Kaew Chaochom” or
Lignum Vitae. Lignum
Vitae was planted in Suan Sunandha after
his visit to Java (Indonesia). Its
flowers resemble Kaew flowers but the
petals are purplish blue and the pollens
are yellow. Its leaves also resemble
Keaw leaves but they are more round and
closer and its trunk is rounder. The
first Lignum V itae was
planted in front of Building 11. It is
now 15 meters tall.
